Donkey Kong II Game & Watch

Going Rate: $50*
What's Up: Back in the early 1980's Nintendo released a line of Game & Watch products featuring soon to be huge names, like Donkey Kong, Mario, and many more. With the homage recently in Super Smash Brothers Melee, it's easy to see why a game
like this could be a collectible. You can take your pick on which game you're the most into, but my personal favorite is Donkey Kong II which features two screens and tons of adventure. And better yet, most games features a couple of different adventures, though oddly similar.

How Cool Are You: For those who think portable gaming started with the Game Boy will be shocked and astonished when you whip out one of these puppies. The Game & Watch might not feature the best graphics and animation (or really any graphics and animation), but the simple shading really shows how far we have come in the last twenty years! While some games are better than others, they all were oddly similar. Each features games were you were trying to make your way up to the top, and around obstacles. Ah the days when things were simple.

*Prices for games and collectibles has been known to fluctuate wildly. What's more, this article was written in 2001, so any number of factors could sink or improve its value. I hope you enjoy the article, but hope you won't take the prices too seriously.)
