It's a question I get asked constantly: What the hell is Plok? Okay, maybe I don't get asked that question very often, but seriously, WHAT THE HELL IS PLOK?!? For years this masked mascot has haunted my nightmares. He was Tradewest's answer to Sonic and Mario, an annoyingly innocent cartoon character that platformed in the second dimension. And because standards were low, they got away with convincing a few gamers to take a chance on something called Plok.

In this episode of Comic Book Mods we take a look at an early comic-inspired advertisement. I have once and for all decided to get to the bottom of the Plok mystery. Unfortunately I'm too lazy to do any research. Even though I could easily email the makers of the game (I found their website by accident), I've decided to guess at what happened in the making of this horrible game. Below you can read the probably true adventures of Plok. Just don't look for a sequel.

Want to play Plok? Well you're out of luck, because he's nowhere to be found on the Virtual Console. Yeah, I know, Nintendo sees fit to release The Tower of Druaga and International Karate, but they're too good for Plok? Well it doesn't seem fair. But maybe if you send enough emails or buy a bunch of copies of Final Fantasy they'll listen to our pleas. Or better yet, you forget Plok ever existed and go back to your miserable life. The choice is yours.
