Electronic Gaming Monthly's Best & Worst Awards of 1999 (Finale)

The year is 1999 and American Beauty is about to turn Kevin Spacey an Oscar winner. This was also the year when that dude from Matchbox 20 teamed up with Santana to sweep the Grammys and Ally McBeal's dancing baby won over voters at the Primetime Emmys. But what about the game awards? If you've ever wanted to know what old school games took home the top prizes, then you've definitely come to the right place. Today we're going to recreate Electronic Gaming Monthly's Best & Worst Awards of 1999, featuring thirty categories that include everything from Most Blatant Rip-Off to Biggest Comeback to Best Game for Lesbians. Yes, that's a real category. So let me cue up the VHS tape and introduce you to the greatest televised awards show to never be broadcast. Give me year heart, make it real and don't forget about the best and worst games of 1999.

Special thanks to Electronic Gaming Monthly for putting the awards together in the first place, the Oscar telecast for supplying me with so many great cutaway shots, and to you for watching this crazy video.
