Why do you need our help?
Oh sure, it’s easy to find people to review the latest and greatest PlayStation 2 games, or Xbox titles, or even GameCube releases … but trying to get somebody to wax about a fifteen year old game is like trying to pull teeth without using Novocaine. But I know there are a few people out there that still have things to say about these games, things that my readers would like to read!

It’s also getting harder for me to devote the time to these reviews. As Defunct Games has grown, the emphasis has been taken off reviews, and now shared amongst a group of editorial, comical, and weird features. My workload for other assignments has gone up over the last few months, making it much more difficult to spend the time I would like to on Jaguar games.

So I challenge you, or anybody you know, to help me provide the fullest review archive of any site devoted to systems nobody gives a damn about! Read on to see what we’re looking for, and if you can help.

What are you looking for? What kinds of systems?
Well, we have very specific needs, but we have a lot of them, so chances are you can help! We’re not looking for Genesis reviews or your take on some Super NES sequel; we’re looking for reviews of games on very specific systems. I’ve listed the systems we are most in need of help with …

Atari Jaguar reviews
Atari Lynx reviews
Sega Saturn reviews
Sega Dreamcast reviews
Sega CD reviews
Sega Master System reviews
Sega GameGear reviews
Game.com reviews
WonderSwan reviews
TurboGrafx / TurboDuo reviews

When it comes to these systems, I don’t care if you own them, know somebody who owns them, or emulates them … just as long as you’re reviewing something that is fairly close to the original version I don’t care. And in some circumstances I can provide the ROM, but not physical game. If you would like to know more about this, feel free to send me an email with any questions.

We are looking for reviews from these systems because they are currently the most lacking. Each of these only has a handful of reviews, where as the Neo*Geo has dozens. We’re also not really looking for Neo Geo Pocket Color or Sega 32x reviews. Pretty much the systems above, and that’s about it.

All right, how would you like the reviews written?
There are only a few things I need, and a few things that would be nice, but ultimately I’m pretty easy going about how things work. For one thing, I’m looking for a review that is over 300 words, it doesn’t have to be 3,000 words, but just as long as you cover the basics, and justify the score, we will post it.

You will also need to rate the game, something between 1% and 100%. You also must allow me to copy edit as I see fit.

Some things that would be NICE, but not essential are …

* Screenshots of the game (preferably between 6 and 9)
* The Publisher of the game
* The year it came out

Sounds good, of course, I understand what’s in this for you, but what about me? What do I get out of this??
There are thousands of video game web sites, so this may just seem like another shameless attempt to lure people into my site. But Defunct Games is unlike any other site on the web, and is constantly reinventing itself with new features, stranger articles, and more. It’s a site that has no competition, a site that has been ripped-off by such famous publications as Electronic Gaming Monthly.

Defunct Games is also a non-profit web site, a site that is more devoted to its articles and writers than advertisers and making money. Defunct Games is no corporate whore! We may not be able to pay you money for your words, but we are here to work it out with you.

And of course you will get your own archive page, so you can impress all your friends at my crafty organization. See link below to see an archive in action ...

Like Saturday Night Live and Mad Magazine in their infancy, Defunct Games is breaking down the walls of what a video game website needs to be! If you hurry, you can be part of this experience. Part of something that you can be proud of. Just like signing up for the Army, just without having to do any exercises!

Or we could all be full of ourselves, and want you to be full of yourself too! Either way, we’re dying to hear from you, so send us an email letting us know what you can do to help keep Defunct Games’ reviews fresh and alive!

How do we get a hold of you to help?
Finding me is one of the easiest things you can do! I am almost always by the computer, and always willing to talk. I also use a fair amount of products, making it that much easier to get through to me. So if you feel you can be of any help, feel free to get a hold of me at any one of these outlets …
