Hardcore Gamer Magazine #33: Dead Space

Cover Story: This month we move from Metal Gear Solid 4 to another mature-themed action game. I can't wait for Dead Space; it's looking to be one of the best games of the year. I should be receiving my review copy any day now, so I was excited to read through Hardcore Gamer Magazine's lengthy 17 page preview. It features everything you want to know about this survival horror game, along with an informative interview with Chuck Beaver, a producer on this multiplatform game. I know a lot of you are excited to run out to the store and pick up this game, but before you do that you should definitely see what all the fuss is about and read HGM's fantastic cover story.

Reviews: Believe it or not this issue of Hardcore Gamer Magazine doesn't have a single review. Remember a year ago when each review had a dozen or so reviews? Well, those days are apparently gone for good. It looks like all of the reviews are being confined to the HGM website, which is a bad move if you asked me. But you didn't ask me, so we're just going to move on to the special features ...

Special Features: This quarter Hardcore Gamer Magazine finally gets around to covering the iPhone. The iPhone? Really? I guess that makes sense; after all there are plenty of big name games coming to Apple's phone-thing. And if you thought an iPhone section was boring, then let me introduce you to the other big feature: Copy Protection. No, I'm not joking. Somehow the anonymous writers at HGM were able to make a story about copy protection fun and entertaining. I know it doesn't sound like it, but it's worth checking out. Outside of that we get previews of Animal Crossing (Wii), Gears of War 2 (Xbox 360) and Persona 4 (PlayStation 2). On top of that we have the usual HGM features, so make sure and download this new issue and see for yourself.
