Ninja Gaiden (NES)
Think Ghouls 'N Ghosts is unfair? Then clearly you haven't played Ninja Gaiden, one of the trickiest action games to hit the 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment System. It's your typical story of boy meets girl, girl shoots boy, boy travels to Central America to rescue his father, boy falls in love with the girl that shot him. But maybe this story has a sad ending. This is how Ryu Hayabusa dies.

Who Died? Ryu Hayabusa, ninja and future Dead or Alive tournament contestant.

What Happened? Upon his 18th birthday, Ryu Hayabusa was told a startling secret -- the father he long-feared was dead, may actually be alive and living in Central America. His ninja training had prepared the young man to locate his deadbeat dad and get to the bottom of a decade-long mystery. Unfortunately, Ryu wasn't as prepared as he thought. In his excitement to start the adventure, Ryu chose not to pack any extra clothing. The elderly woman on the plane joked that he was woefully ill-equipped for the United States. She wasn't wrong, as the sleeveless ninja died almost immediately upon entering the big city. After the endless hours of training to fight dogs, killer birds, ninja magic and evil Latin men, Ryu was stunned when a random street hoodlum got the best of him on the city streets. The police would later find his body balled up in a fetal position.
