When it comes to reviews, today's game fans are spoiled. Kids today are used to thousand word reviews that touch on every detail of the game in question. There's a level of critical thinking you simply didn't get in most 1990s game publications. Twenty years ago, editors only had a couple dozen words to work with and were forced to be vague. Because simply listing off the differences wouldn't be enough, I've decided to illustrate the difference by giving brand new games old school reviews.
