The Worst PAX Contest Ever!

At this year's Penny Arcade Expo gamers of all ages were given a chance to win some really cool prizes. Depending on how good your Tetris skills were you could win a brand new car, there was a $1,500 cash prize at the Turbine booth, and a few people even walked away with new games and systems. If you are the type of person that loves winning stuff then the Penny Arcade Expo is for you. Unfortunately Defunct Games can't match any of those prizes; we simply do not have the budget to give out a new car or even $1,500. But that's not going to keep us from creating a contest out of our PAX experience.

Instead of giving out really expensive items, Defunct Games is here to offer up two PAX grab bags full of cool items collected on the show floor. We have two PAX bags full of cool video game-related knick knacks. I'm talking about books, postcards, buttons and much more. These bags are overflowing with cool (and rare) video game schwag. And now one of them can be yours ... FOR FREE!!

That's right, Defunct Games is proud to present our very first contest. We won't be giving out a car, but we can guarantee that these bags are worth your time. This is the type of thing that goes on eBay for big bucks ... I'm talking about five, maybe ten dollars. But now you can get it for free, and all you need to do is answer a simple question. And better still, there is no wrong answer for this question. We're just looking for your input. QUESTION: This year's PAX featured panel discussions on all sorts of topics, including women in gaming, the importance of blogs/podcasts and how to make a game in under $10,000. Next year PAX will be three times larger, which means they will have room for many more panel discussions. What topic would you like to see addressed at next year's Penny Arcade Expo?



The following is a list of most (but not all) of the goodies you will find in this Penny Arcade Expo grab bag: Almost everything we talked about in our Is This Schwag Bag Worth It? article. You will also get, an ATI lanyard strap, Guild Wars buttons, a cool Death Jr. maze game, an NVidia notebook, a bunch of Guitar Hero II postcards and Nivea For Men after shave (no, I'm not kidding). You will also get a white bag that advertises the newest Splinter Cell game and 1up.com. Both bags are identical. Only one winner per household. All other rules are stupid and will be made up on the spot by the judges. No that's not fair, but that's how it works. That's part of what makes this the worst PAX contest ever!
