Just Say No to NARC

Today is April 20th, and I'm pretty sure you know what that means. To help celebrate today's holiday, I would like to shine a light on one of the most offensive video games of all time -- NARC. Although it pretends to have a healthy anti-drug message, all it really does is glorify police brutality in poor neighborhoods. We go into more details in today's video: Just Say No to NARC.

It seems Midway understood how offensive NARC was when they went to reboot the franchise. Instead of glamorizing police brutality, the 2005 game chose to turn the heroes into flawed characters dealing with their own addictions. While this retelling of NARC was still garbage (I gave it an "F" a decade ago), it wasn't nearly as awful as the arcade game.
